Jump Rope for Heart is a fun activity that benefits the American Heart Association. Before the event the students are encouraged to collect pledges from family and friends. The money collected supports the American Heart Association. The entire school participates in this jump roping event. It took place in the Church basement on Friday, March 16, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The students were all split into groups. The seventh and eighth graders were the leaders of the groups. When the students were not jumping it was a good time for them to work on homework and to visit with their schoolmates.
This March for our monthly Magic School House gathering, we learned about vocations. Monsignor came in and talked to us students about this topic. He talked about the three stages of Holy Orders: deacon, priest, and bishop. He explained what it takes to become each of these things. He told us that each of us have a vocation, but we have to pray to God and ask Him what that vocation is. Monsignor also read us some of the rites used at different ceremonies. To wrap up this gathering, we watched a short video about the process of electing a new pope. We did a short craft project to go along with this topic, too. |
