| On the morning of Ash Wednesday, the entire school met for our monthly Bible Quest activity. In groups, students searched the Bible looking for examples of the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. It was a challenging activity that got everyone thinking about how to help others in this season of Lent. In the afternoon, the fifth through eighth grades spent a good portion of the afternoon making fleece tie blankets as a service project. These blankets will be donated to area emergency service responders to be given to those who have experienced traumatic events. We thank Carrie Geissler and Julia Jurczak for their help and guidance with this project. Thanks also to the Christian Mothers Society for funding this project. |

Although we had a snow day on the original Teacher Appreciation Day, students and parents still pulled off a wonderful celebration for the teachers. Eighth grade students treated the teachers, Father Ed, and Father Charlie to a delicious Mexican lunch on Teacher Appreciation day. The guests were escorted to the church basement by designated 8th grade students who also presented the teachers with sombreros to wear. Teachers enjoyed non-alcoholic margaritas, nachos, salsa, and guacamole, tacos, and delicious desserts. For entertainment, 2 students juggled maracas, 5 students sang a song, and there was a pinata for the teachers to break open. The teachers got a tasty treat of chocolates once the pinata was broke open. It was a wonderful meal made possible by the 8th grade students and their families.
